about

This piece is a compilation of 4 smaller pieces, produced for a video game made during Global Game Jam 2020 at Montreal's École de Technologie Supérieure.

To anchor itself in the game's Art Déco and Roaring 20's aesthetic elements, I sampled an old public domain ragtime piano piece and used lofi elements. The soundtrack was meant to transition from a calmer groove to a frantic drum and bass moment when the player was being seen, and to full distorted mayhem when they got caught stealing. Here, the transition is more linear, each repetition of the form bringing more intensity to the piece. It took me about 20 hours of work to put this piece together, split on two days of game jam.

Sections:
*Main Menu/Main Theme
*First Level
*Spotted
*Victory Fanfare
*Caught Stealing
*Game Over Screen
